It has been said that DePauw University is a mecca of collegiate Greek Life. With over 20 Greek fraternities and sororities, DePauw seemed to have an organization for everyone.

However, DePauw had never had a fraternity that strived for cultural diversity and thrived on the empowerment of both its members and the greater community. And so in the Fall of 2011, four men went in search of an organization that embodied their own morals of exceptional academics, consciousness of cultural diversities, leadership in serving their communities, and an unbreakable bond of revolutionary men.

And so a year later, on November 10th, 2012, the Elegua Chapter of Lambda Sigma Upsilon was founded with the objective to tirelessly work to empower the members of the DePauw and Greencastle communities and holistically embody the fraternity’s goals of academic excellence, cultural awareness and diversity, being role models in the community, and brotherhood.

Since its inception, the Elegua Chapter has been successful in its pursuits. From establishing Greencastle’s Annual AIDS Walk to hosting the first Midwestern Regional Stroll Competition, the Elegua Chapter continues the effort of revolutionizing its communities through its diverse brotherhood.
